- Malvina D. Engelberg has been a full-time faculty member with AiO and a member of the Lead Team in General Education/English since 2006. In both on-the-ground and online universities, she has served as an administrator responsible for the course development and general oversight of English Departments. Malvina has facilitated courses at the University level in all areas of composition and literature and places particular emphasis on written argumentation and the interconnectedness of reading and writing. With this in mind, she has created and implemented several literature-based writing courses.
A PhD candidate at the University of Miami, Malvina intends to complete her dissertation, entitled Footprints, Passages, and Flight Patterns: The Evolution and [Re]volution of Jewish Travel Writing, in the summer of 2008. An avid reader, she regularly contributes book reviews to the Jewish Book World, a quarterly magazine, with a worldwide readership, designed to introduce books of Jewish interest to the reading public.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, needlework, and cooking. Married for 46 years, Malvina has four married children and seven grandchildren, whom she sees frequently. Her mantra: “The more I learn, the more I want to learn, and, then, the more I want to share what I have learned.”
