It certainly does. Thank you for taking the time to send these to me.

Not too long ago, I read the City of Lights and really enjoyed it--at least until I read an article in which it was claimed that the entire book was untrue. Have you heard anything like that about this book?

Yes, I have heard and read the book and I even used it in my research. I truly believe that the book is authentic, it fits and corroborates other stories and events in the history of China. When I read the book I could feel both the Jewish and the Chinese culture interact. Chinese officials had a great deal of respect for learned man, and the observations made by Jacob, the Jewish captain, were very keen, considering the fact that he could not communicate directly. Those who questioned the authenticity of this book, did not provided one single evidence to support their claim.
I have done research on China in general ( I read Chinese) and the Jews in China in particular (wrote 2 books about the subject) and the places, events , customs etc. described in the book were corroborated by Chinese gazetteers from that time.

Yes! Totally amazing, exhaustive one -- handsomely bound -- is edited by Bialik/Ravnitzky. That should be enough info to find it. It's called THE JEWISH BOOK OF LEGENDS: Sefer Ha-Aggadah.
